Associate Consultant
The Associate Consultant is a disciplined learner and confident communicator who demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and a passion to grow. The Associate role is the first step in Openfields Consultant development track which progresses from project support, to client facing work, to designing and managing client projects, to leading project teams.
The Associate’s primary role is to support client projects in a range of research, planning, project management, and communications functions, including:
- Researching organizations, communities, and social impact issues
- Analyzing and synthesizing curated research, interviews, and surveys
- Developing presentations, decks, and client reports
- Attending client meetings, developing meeting reports
- Helping plan client meetings and events
- Coordinating with Openfields partners and contractors
- Working closely with senior staff on both our Consulting and Research & Data teams to inform planning, strategy, and client deliverables
QUALIFICATIONS
A competitive candidate will demonstrate:
- Genuine curiosity and interest in advancing Openfields mission
- Ability to read, assess, and synthesize a broad range of news, articles, and reports
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail in managing projects and communications
- Entrepreneurial attitude and outlook
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, and Excel) and Google Workspace, and other related collaboration tools (ex. Notion, Miro)
- 1-5 years of related work and/or education experience
Additional, but not necessary, skills and interests:
- Experience or education in the fields of consulting, philanthropy, or public health
- AI-driven learning processes and platform
CONDITIONS
Status: Full time, salary
Location: Greenville, SC; remote employment may be available after the first year
Travel: Some travel is expected, but much of our work is managed virtually
Reports to: Frances Poe, Director of Consulting
Start date: Position available immediately
Salary range: $40,000 - $55,000
